This is a wonderful, historical, 8" x 10" black and white autographed photo of my friend, Virginia Davis, Walt Disney's first star in the Alice Comedies way back in 1923-25. This photo has a picture of her from the Alice Comedies and a more recent photo of her. We obtained the photo directly from Virginia. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2009.

Virginia has autographed the photo. She wrote "Alice" next to it. This is an original autograph, not a copy, although, of course, the photo itself is a copy. Virginia is officially recognized by the Disney studios as Disney's First Star and in 1998 was presented with a Disney Legend Award. How special is this!

The photo is double-matted to an 11" x 14" size. The outer matte is white with a black inner matte. An acid-free backing board has been placed behind the photo to protect it.

For your information, from 1923-25 Virginia starred for Walt Disneyin the Alice Comedies which wasthe first time live action was combined with cartoon characters. The films were directed by Walt Disney and filmed by his brother, Roy Disney. Virginia starred in the first 13 of the Alice Comedies. In fact, the very first one was filmed in her mother's house with Walt Disney directing and actually appearing in part of the film. These films have become an important part of history.
