I was told a story about this "rough sketch." It may or may not be true. However my little shadow, Tinker Bell, and I are like-minded and forever the optimists, therefore I have declared that the story is completely, one hundred and ten percent accurate and true.

This is the story. Marc Davis who is Tinker Bell's artistic father designed the little sprite in a Fairy curvaceous form. Now this was just moving into the 1950's. Disney did not have tantalizing females, only sweet young maidens or old hags or cute dumpy ageless females (Well, maybe there were some who admired the sleek beauty of the evil queen in Snow White - before she got hers and turned herself into an old hag).

But I digress. So there were many at Disney Studios who thought that Marc Davis had gone a bit too far with the alluring form of Tink.

Marc at one time was on the defensive when he drew the rough image above and as you may note he sketched Tink turning away with only her back showing for the top half and the hips seemed to be much smaller because of the pose. And wouldn't you know, her darling face is as bright as ever. Well, Marc won the day and my impish friend Tinker Bell stayed the fetching icon we know and love. Isn't that a great story? Tink and I think so.

Many years later when I was at Marc's home and we were being taped for a TV special he explained that, "if you really look at Tinker Bell's image you will see that the top half of her is like a little girl and from the waist down she is, well, what she is."

There are not many people who have had the opportunity to secure this 8" x 10" black and white glossy rough sketch with emulsion swirls in the background. I couldn't resist choosing this message. It's perfect. It reads "Strictly Tink!" signed "Tinker Bell" then below that I add my signature, "Margaret Kerry."

The 8" x 10" photo will come with a Certificate of Authenticity, also signed by me, guaranteeing for a lifetime the authenticity of the autograph, or a full refund would be made.
