Description

This signed, limited edition of 50, 11"x14" photo, archivally custom matted and framed to a 21 1/4" x 18 1/2" size, was created for the 150th birthday celebration for James M. Barrie, author of the play and book, Peter Pan, in Kirriemuir, Scotland (his birthplace), in 2010. I was invited to speak there but was unable to go so designated that my friend and cohort, Linda Swisher, go in my place to represent me and the Disney version of Peter Pan as best she could. Among other things this piece was developed especially for the event by Linda with the help of her awesome graphic designer.

At the top of the photo is the title of the piece, "REAL BOYS DO GROW UP!" Underneath that it says, "Disney's Peter Pan 1953." On the left side of the photo are three images of Bobby Driscoll, the voice and close-up reference model for Peter Pan. In two of the photos you see the young fifteen year old Bobby Driscoll when he did Peter Pan, and the last photo was taken shortly before he died at the age of 31. On the right side photo you see two images of Roland Dupree when he was the reference mode forl Peter Pan at age 26-27 and then a third image is Roland in his 80's. In the center of the photo close to the top is the image of Neverland and the pirate ship flying towards it. At the lower portion of the photo is the animated image of Peter Pan with Tinker Bell just above his head.

What makes the photo even more special is that is has been autographed by myself, Margaret Kerry, Disney's original live-action reference model for Tinker Bell, and Roland Dupree, Disney's reference model for Peter Pan for all the flying and action scenes, in the 1953 film, Peter Pan. I signed the piece in white ink just above the animated image of Tinker Bell and Roland signed in black felt-tip pen underneath the image of Peter. These are our original signatures, not copies. It should be noted that Roland has rarely signed Peter Pan autographs in the last 50 years, so this makes this piece extra special. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2015.

To make this piece even more special, I have double matted it with a black outer matte and a lime green inner matte with double notched corners. I then added a wonderful, custom, mottled, silver and black frame. This really enhances the piece. An acid free backing board has also been placed behind the piece to protect it.

You will receive the exact date and place of signing on the Certificate of Authenticity from TinkerBellTalks.com and a lifetime guarantee on its authenticity or a full refund will be made.
